We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Support Work Assistant to provide support to young people 16 years to 21 years in temporary supported accommodation. This can be challenging but a rewarding role for the right person.
This is a full time permanent role working 36 hours per week.
You will be expected to work on rota providing shift cover from 7.45am - 8pm undertaking a mixture of two 12 hour shifts and two shorter shifts. The shift patterns will include weekend working in rotation with the team.
What you'll do
You will be supporting young people who may have complex support issues as may be affected by ACE's, Trauma, PTSD or has faced other difficulties within their short lives. You will be expected to work within a physiologically informed environmental framework, working in a trauma informed way. Providing support in line with their agreed Person Centered support plan goals to gain the necessary skills , knowledge and resilience to confidently achieve their outcome to manage a tenancy independently. You will be supporting Young Persons to access, education, courses and employment opportunities, in addition to gaining practical skills in line with the Housing Related Support funded outcomes.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role you will have experience of supporting individuals with varying complex support needs. You will need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and build supportive relationships.
A qualification in Social Care or related discipline is desirable but not essential.
You will need a full, current driving licence and use of a vehicle.
