We are looking for an experienced Relief Support Worker to join our team, working in our St. Clears accommodation based in Camarthen.
This is a permanent position, working on a relief basis.
What you'll do
The Hafod Young Persons Project at St Clears provides accommodation and support to a range of young adults in the age range 16-24. The post holder will be responsible to the local project manager for maintaining a safe environment for clients and also for the delivery of support. The role is interesting and varied with a real opportunity to make a difference in a young person’s life and support them to become independent contributors to society.
You will engage with Young People at every opportunity, in order to build trusting and respectful relationships; get to know the individual; their strengths and challenges, and how the whole team can support them most effectively. You will provide support flexibly to ensure maximum chance of each individual engaging in the support available.
What you'll need
You will need a good understanding of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies, experience of working directly with young people with support needs in a community setting or floating support service. Knowledge of using electronic record keeping systems and relevant housing related legislation would be advantageous.
You will need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and build supportive relationships with Young People who are disadvantaged and experiencing difficulties, to respond appropriately to their needs.
You will need a full current driving licence and access to own vehicle with a willingness to work flexibly.
