We have a new opportunity for an experienced Peripatetic Support Worker, to provide housing related support to tenants either in supported housing or in their own homes throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf.

This job is being offered on a permanent basis, working 24 hours per week. The hourly rate is £10.00.

What you'll do

You will have the opportunity to utilise your skills and experience to really make a difference and develop your career.

You will help prevent homelessness and support individuals to develop life skills to ensure they can maintain their accommodation and well-being in the long term post support.

To provide support to individuals who have a variety of support needs including older people with a physical disability, chronic illness and/ or mental health issue.

What you'll need

Experience of working with individuals with any or all of the following criteria: Mental Health, Physical Disability, Substance Misuse, Chronic Illness and homelessness is essential in order to be considered for this position.

You will have demonstrable experience as a support worker and be able to use your initiative to deal with a range of situations that may present, reporting and escalating as required. The successful post holder will need an understanding of Housing and Benefits systems.

A qualification in Social Care or related discipline is desirable.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage your time. You will have the ability to remain calm in a changing environment and be able to work flexibly when required.

A full, current driving licence and use of a car is essential.
